About UK Tax Advisors

Independent UK tax advisers for clients worldwide

Specialist support for internationally based clients who need the UK tax position to be clear, proportionate and properly considered.

A specialist perspective

Advice with no agenda beyond your best interests.

UK Tax Advisors is an independent advisory firm. Recommendations are guided by the facts, the law and your objectives, not by products, commissions or a wider corporate relationship.

We take an impartial approach, explaining where certainty is possible and where judgement is required. Clients value a direct relationship with an adviser who understands both the technical detail and the decisions behind it.

Our advisers

The people behind the advice.

Martin Holden

Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT)

Martin Holden is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). He specialises in UK tax planning and compliance, including tax returns, following over 20 years of work in industry and practice.

Our UK tax return and advisory services cover expatriates, residence, domicile and property taxation, alongside specialist support for resident and non resident pilots and advice on offshore structures.

We also provide immigration and emigration tax advice, guidance on the Non Resident Landlord Scheme, residence certificates and double tax treaties, and advice on foreign pensions. These areas support clients managing UK tax obligations while living in the UK or overseas.

Gary Lock

Chartered Accountant (ACA, FCCA)

Gary Lock is a Chartered Accountant holding both ACA and FCCA qualifications, with over 20 years of experience providing Finance Director and Financial Controller services to SMEs.

Having worked as a restructuring partner, Gary specialises in helping businesses become more efficient and profitable, with particular expertise in turnaround situations, crisis financial management, and insolvency.

That background in financial judgement shapes how he approaches client work. The UK tax position is treated as part of a wider picture of assets, income and timing, and the same person who takes your first call carries the work through to HMRC.

How we work

Three stages, one adviser, from first question to final letter.

There is no standard package here. Every engagement follows the same rhythm, shaped each time around the facts in front of us, and it is deliberately simple so you always know where a piece of work has reached.

Our approach starts with listening.

Before any advice is drafted, the first step is to understand the whole picture: where you live, what you own in the UK, what has changed and what you are trying to achieve. Most of the value in cross border work comes from asking the right questions early.

We make the position intelligible.

Residence rules, treaty articles and filing obligations are set out in language you can act on, with the choices in front of you separated from the noise around them.

We stay with it.

You deal with the same adviser throughout, from the first conversation to the correspondence with HMRC, so nothing is handed on and nothing is lost between people.

The result is advice that reads as one continuous conversation rather than a file passed between departments.
