Who this is for
Advice grounded in your actual circumstances.
For clients where the UK and another country may both claim taxing rights over the same income or gain, or where treaty residence needs careful interpretation.
Individuals resident overseas who receive UK property, employment, pension, investment or business income.
People moving between the UK and another country during a tax year.
Clients who have paid, or may be asked to pay, tax in two jurisdictions on the same amount.
Individuals and companies needing a clear UK analysis to coordinate with an adviser overseas.

What is included
A defined scope, clearly explained.
A treaty is applied article by article to the underlying facts. We identify the relevant provisions, explain which country may tax and establish how double taxation may be relieved.
Residence and treaty scope
We review domestic residence positions and, where needed, the treaty tests that determine treaty residence.
Income and gains analysis
We identify the relevant treaty article for each material source rather than assuming one treatment applies to everything.
Taxing rights
We explain whether the UK, the other country or both may tax, including any conditions or limitations.
Relief mechanism
We assess whether exemption, credit or another form of relief applies and what evidence or claims the UK requires.
Adviser coordination
Where appropriate, we provide a clear UK position to share with your adviser in the other jurisdiction.
Why it matters
Treaties prevent double taxation only when the correct provisions are applied.
A treaty does not mean the lower tax rate automatically applies, nor does it remove every filing requirement. The result can differ by income type, ownership, residence status and the wording of the particular agreement.
If the position is handled inconsistently between countries, relief may be delayed or denied and the same amount may remain exposed to tax twice. A documented analysis keeps each adviser working from the same facts.
